A fine pair of late 19th century silver plated candlesticks in the Adam style, each of octagonal section with a detachable beaded drip pan fitting into a finely fluted campana shaped sconce, over a tapering shaft decorated at the top with swags with fluting below, and on a spreading fluted base with a plinth foot. English, circa 1890.
Condition: Almost perfect, both candlesticks are completely free of plate wear, they both stand straight and both have a wonderful colour and appearance, and with proportions redolent of eighteenth century silver.
